What to Expect from Your Session
When you book a family session with me, you’re not just getting photos; you’re getting an experience. I’ll guide you through every step—from choosing a location that reflects your family’s personality to styling tips that ensure you look your best. During the session, I focus on making everyone feel comfortable and free to be themselves. This allows me to capture natural, authentic moments that reflect the love you have for one another.
The experience
01. BOOKING
Say Hello!
Once you fill out the contact form, be sure to keep an eye on your inbox! We’ll confirm a date and chat about your vision for the session. We will also discuss locations to help decide what best fits your family's unique style.
Most sessions are scheduled during the magical golden hour—about an hour and a half before sunset.
Once we’ve discussed all the details, I’ll send you a contract to review and an invoice for the initial retainer.

02. preparing for your session
The day of your session is your time to shine! I am here to assist you in any way you need to prepare, including:
- Styling to help with outfit coordination for the whole family. Along with a helpful checklist to help you stay organized.
- Hair and makeup recommendations, upon request.
- Family questionnaire to help me learn more about everyone in the group.
- Optional planning consultation call where we can discuss the details, get to know each other, and clear up any last-minute questions, during this call I can provide additional 1:1 outfit guidance.
- Clear communication throughout the process.
03. the big day
Picture day is here and it is time for us to turn your vision for your family session into reality. During your session, I will guide you through natural poses & prompts. No need to be shy or nervous! We are here to have fun! I'll be at the location a little earlier than the session time and you let me know when you arrive. First, we will start with the whole group and then move into an assortment of photo combos, starting with your most desired moment, capturing your priority photos first.
04. gallery & photo delivery
After your session, the next step of magic begins. EDITING! This is my favorite part of the process, and it often brings a few happy tears. Each photo is meticulously hand-edited to ensure you receive only the finest, most polished images, free from any distractions. You can expect your full gallery within 2-3 weeks, you'll have access to your fully edited, private digital gallery. I will reach out to you to see if you would like to order any professional prints or products.
